Odd Encounter Turns Bad

Hooded Man's POV

My plans were now formed and I was ready to act on them. I had showered and put on some clean clothes. I walked outside and waited on her. I decided I would follow her until she was somewhere I could talk to her without seeming completely crazy.

About 20 minutes after I had positioned myself outside of her building, she exited. She started walking toward downtown. I smirked, "Perfect." I said aloud to myself.

Once she was far enough ahead of me she wouldn't realize she was being followed I started walking. Her every move was graceful almost majestic. Hell, she was sexy. I shook that thought from my mind and continued to watch her. She went in a few stores but when she came out of the last one she dropped one of her bags spilling the contents of it all over the sidewalk. My perfect chance.

I hurried over to her and helped her start picking things up. "Let me help you." I smiled at her.

She jumped back and almost fell. I caught her arm to keep her upright. "Are you alright?"

Jade's POV

I stared in his eyes a moment then stood, "Yes, I'm fine. Thank you." There was something oddly familiar about this man and that scared me. I don't like not knowing...but I couldn't open my senses back up yet. Mila would then know where to find me if I did and I wasn't ready to face any of them. So I just pushed that sudden fear out of my mind and took my bag from him.

He stood there smiling at me a minute, although it was almost a grin. "I'm Jeff, by the way." I took his hand and shook it. "Jade."

"Would you like to have a cup of coffee with me?" He asked. I was nervous about that. I bit my lip and despite my insistent fear I agreed.

I turned and he followed me. That's when I realized who this man was. He was the hooded stranger that followed me the other day. My skin crawled at the thought. I would not divert my attention from that fact but I would go through with this just to see what the hell it is he wants.

We walked in the little coffee shop around the corner from my hotel and I realized it's the same coffee shop I ran into when he was following me the other day. Deja vu much?

We found a table and sat down. The waitress came over and he ordered a black coffee and a white chocolate caramel cappucino for myself. "So Jade, tell me about yourself."

I raised my brow at him, "What do you want to know?" I sat back and crossed my legs, I knew he wanted something and I was going to figure out what it was.

"Anything you want to share." He smirked. I was not liking the way this guy is being. He creeped me out. "Well, what if I don't want to share anything?" If he wanted to play games then so could I.

"Then maybe I will have to force you to tell me." He growled. That's when I realized he was a vampire. Fuck. I'm screwed without Mila and Zoey, well and if he's very strong we would need Nookie too. Dammit.

I just sat there quiet. "I'm not telling you anything, Jeff. I know what you are, now tell me what you want from me." I stated matter of factly. I expected him to abide by what I just said.

"Oh, no no no, sweetheart. It doesn't work that way. You WILL do as I say. I wouldn't want to hurt Derek, Evan, or Mila." He smirked and my breath caught. "What have you done with them you sick bastard?" I wanted to hit him bad but knew it would do nothing but break a finger or two...of mine.

"Nothing yet, my dear. Calm down." He laughed. "But I will if i have to. Now give me what I want and we'll have no problems, got it?"

Hooded Man's POV

I watched her maliciously. "That depends on what you want you sick fuck!" She was really starting to irritate me. Maybe I would just take the athame and get it over with. This waiting around for her to give it to me willingly is running my patience thin.

"I want your precious athame that you inherited." I knew by the look in her eyes this wasn't going to be easy. "Hell no!"

I almost tipped my chair backwards. "You WILL give it to me, Jade. My precious Jade." I reached across the table and took her hand. She tried to jerk away and I tightened my grip. "I can really hurt you, you know that right?" All she did was nod. "Let's get our drinks to go. We have lots to discuss, my sweet." I smirked.

When the waitress brought our drinks to us I asked to have them in to go cups. She gladly obliged. I put some money on the table to pay for them then took mine from her and Jade took hers when she brought them back. I stood and took her by the arm and led her out of the coffee shop and down the street to my apartment.

Plans

Hooded Man's POV

As I sit in my apartment watching Jade out of my window, I wonder if it will all be worth it in the end. She has something that I have wanted for years and yet she continues to evade me. The times before when I have gotten close to retreiving the item in question, she picks up and moves hiding herself brilliantly. It took me over a year to track her down this time.

It was her mistake going to the hospital like she did. I smirked, remembering when I picked up the log.

The moment I saw her I knew it was her I had to take the thing from, not her sister. A lot of time has passed for me. Now I have a ultimate need for the item she has refused to give to me over the years. I will not take no for an answer this time.

Jade will give me what I want or I will take it. Though it's uses are more powerful if it's willingly gave to you.

I sighed, looking up when I saw her walking through her hotel room.

Now was the time to smoothe out the details in my plan. Time was running out, sooner or later she would catch on and things would get ugly. Which is why I have done a few things to manipulate her and the ones around her.

I sat in my chair, continuing to watch her when it came to me. I had to get close to her, talk to her, get her to trust me before making my move. Otherwise, I would never get an inch closer to getting what I want than I am right now.

Missing Person

Mila's POV

I sat on her couch waiting on the Magical Law Enforcement Patrol to come. I was a nervous wreck and worried sick about my sister. She's never went this long without contacting someone and letting them know where she's at. When I heard a knock on the door I got up and answered it. "Good evening, Miss Brooks. I am Jaxsen Ackles." He extended his hand to me.

I shook his hand. "Call me Mila." I let him in the house and led him into the livingroom. "Would you like coffee?" I was scared and nervous. I never did like the Magical Law Enforcement Patrol.

He shook his head. "No, thank you." Officer Ackles sat down on the couch and waited for me to join him. I took a deep breath before taking a seat beside him. "Okay, miss Brooks....Mila. Start at the beginning and tell me what happened."

"The beginning?" I inhaled and exhaled. "Alright, about a month and a half ago she was attacked outside of a club in town. Knocked over the head and she lost her memory. She's just starting to remember things." He stopped me. "Has she seen a doctor for this Amnesia?" I shook my head. "No, she refused. She only went once but was released shortly after."

He nodded as he took notes on his pad of paper. "Ok, please continue."

"Well, about 2 weeks ago my friend and her got into it about her not coming back to his place after she had a date with another guy. My friend is the one who found her and has been taking care of her. He was worried and argued with her. He was being a little overprotective. She threw him out of her house and no one has heard from her since." Tears brimmed in my eyes. I might have been stupied and screwed around with Evan while Jade was with him but she was my sister and I still love her. I would do anything to find her. "Well, she could have just took a vacation." He suggested to me in a casual voice. Are you fucking kidding me? "She doesn't leave without telling me. And she's been gone for 2 fucking weeks Mr. Ackles. She should have contacted me by now. She's had plenty of time to calm down over the way Derek acted." I stood up, this asshole was pissing me off.

He put his hands up. "It was just a suggestion, calm down." I crossed my arms. "Something is wrong, Mr. Ackles, and you better damn well do your job and find out where my sister is." He stood up finishing off his notes. "I'll report her as missing and see what I can do, Mila. Thank you for owling us."

I nodded and showed him to the door. He better do his fucking job or he would regret it, I smirked at the thought as I bid him good day and shut the door.

What Happens Behind Closed Doors

Mila's POV

It has been 3 days since we heard from Evan, well his body anyway. Something or someone was controlling him. It was creepy. Things have just got weirder since then. Derek has gotten quiet and barely talking to me. He's hardly ever home. So I stand at my bedroom window wondering what this could all mean. What's going on? I take a deep breath and sigh when exhaling. My mind going a million miles a minute, I back away from my window and begin pacing the length of my room. That's when it hits me. I have to go to Jade's house and find our things to do a search on someone. Plus I need something she's had recently.

I take a small bag from my closet and pack some sage, a couple of incents, a small potions bowl for mixing, and my wand in my hand. I throw the bag over my shoulder and head out the door. Derek not home again like usual these days, I walk behind the house into the woods then disapparate straight to her house so he won't be able to follow me. I didn't want him to know what I was up to. For some reason I didn't feel I can trust him right now. I'm thinking whoever or whatever was controlling Evan had gotten to Derek. Which left a very uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach.

I slowly inched her door open, peeking in. It was so dusty I knew she hadn't been there for a couple of weeks at the look of it. I knew I should call the muggle police first and then report her as missing to the Magical Law Enforcement Patrol, but I needed to do our search ritual. It had always worked before unless she thought to put a block on herself. Which is very possible. Jade was always good at that kind of thing, unlike myself. I just hope I can remember how to perform it.

I went up to the closet where we had the hidden door. Some of the things we used weren't exactly common and were hard to come by. Which meant they could be considered dark arts objects.

Once inside the closet I moved a large box aside to expose the door. I pointed my wand at the door and it flew open. I pulled out the censor, chalice, our sword, and the athame. I needed all of these things and the dried herbs we had stored in there. I carried the things down the hall to her bedroom grabbing a stray shirt that was laying on her bed, then shoving the bed over to the side, revealing the same place we always create our circle.

I brought her shirt to the center and laid it down, then the censor. I took the sword and as I said the enchantment I drew a circle causing magical fire to appear in a circle. Laying the sword down I lit the sage and placed it in the censor I brought from Derek's. Then started mixing the herbs in the other, continuing the enchantment. I took the athame and stirred it once counter clockwise then took the knife and swiped the mixture across my forehead.

After I was finished with that I placed the chalice on top of the shirt. Then took a seat in front of it indian style and meditated chanting the incantation for the searching ritual, concentrating on Jade. I kept this up for a couple of hours getting nothing but small sparks from the sage. There's a connection there but not strong enough to pick up where she's residing at the moment.

Getting frustrated with it I broke the connection and stood up. "Shit. Where are you, Jade?" I asked the empty room.

I began clearning things away with my wand then carried the chalice, athame and censors back to the little hidden place in the closet of my room. I replaced everything as I found it then returned to her room. I sighed and moved the bed back where it was, going down stairs and calling in the Magical Law Enforcement Patrol.

Desparation

Mila's POV

By the third day of not hearing anything from Jade I was becoming highly upset and worried. I mean fuck, she lost her memory and she's missing. She threw Derek out and then I'm guessing she left.

I was in the livingroom pacing when Derek walked in, I turned on him quickly. "Where the hell have you been?"

"Woe, I've been looking for Jade." He put his hands up in defense. Like that would help him at this point. "And?" I waited, crossing my arms and glaring at him.

"And, nothing. I can't find anything." I rolled my eyes. "Fuck, I knew not to leave the job for a little boy to do." I went into the kitchen and he followed pinning me up agains the counter. "Little boy, huh? That's not what you were saying last night when you were screaming my name." He licked me from my collarbone to my ear lobe. "Quit that shit. You know what I mean, Derek."

I pushed him away and poured myself a cup of hot steaming coffee. "We have to find her before she remembers to much. Without the potion everything about Evan will come back. I don't want her remembering all that horrible shit."

"You just don't want her remembering you fucked her boyfriend." His voice had took on a bitter edge. It gave me chills. "That's not it."

He put his hand up to silence me. "What the fuck?"

"Shut up a minute." He walked around to the front door and listened intently. "Someone's listening."

Derek's POV

I stood there listening to the unknown intruder on the porch before flinging the door open and exposing them. I was not expecting who I came face to face with. Unable to respond I just stood there, as did Mila. We all just stared at each other. "Evan?" Mila finally spoke but it was barely a whisper.

A crooked grin spread upon his sneering face. "Mila, dear. I wondered where you had run off to." He reached out and brushed the back of his hand down her face. "I've missed you." That's when my senses came back to me and I knocked his hand away from her. "Keep your filthy hands off her." I pulled her to my side and glared at him. I wanted him to see the hate in my eyes.

He smirked. "Oh, you have no idea what all happened, Derek."

"What? How?" He grinned and pushed passed us. "I could see it in your eyes, you don't hide things well." He kept looking around my house. We followed him into the livingroom.

"She's not here, Evan." Mila finally got her voice back. "I know that stupid girl." He shook his head. "I'm looking for something else. He kept walking around patting various locations and finding nothing. "What the hell gives you the right to come into my house and begin searching for something without even telling me what it is that you desire so dearly?"

"It has nothing to do with you. Stay out of it." That was it he had pushed me far enough already. I grabbed his arm. "I think it's time for you to leave, Evan." He jerked away from me and laughed. "Oh, me being here has just begun brother." He smirked.

Evan's POV

I saw the realization dawn on Mila's face as I said that one simple sentence. "Oh yes, Mila. We are brothers."

She bit her lip and looked over at Derek. "Is it true?" He took a deep breath and swallowed hard, nodding. "Yes, it's true. But we haven't spoke in what....8 years? Yeah, that's about right 8 or 9 years."

"Is that why you were so surprised to see him at your door?"

"Yes." He sneered looking directly at me. We had hated each other since I had took Natalie from him years ago. He had never gotten over it. Supposedly, she was his first love and would settle for nobody else. Thinking of this made me roll my eyes. It was utterly ridiculous. Everything about him was ridiculous. He always was the weaker one.

I finally found what I was looking for in a book safe. I cracked it open and took out the ring. "Now, Jade will not be able to resist me. She will come to me like nothing ever happened, like she was meant to." I narrowed my eyes at Mila. "If someone would have kept her mouth shut then this would be neccessary."

She squeaked, making me laugh. I knew she was frightened of me. She always was, which is why she slept with me. She was afraid I would have taken it from her anyway. I'm not that type of guy but its nice to see people bow down to you in fear when needed. I put the ring on my finger and slowly started toward the door when I felt a small hand on my arm. She twirled me around to her and punched me square in the nose, breaking it. "You little bitch! Never put your hands on me again." Something about me felt odd. This wasn't me. I don't talk to women like that. I turned and ran out the door before I did something out of my control.

Mila's POV

"What's going on, Derek? That wasn't the Evan I know." I felt the tears starting to sting the back of my eyes. What was wrong with the man that was once my secret lover. Creepy things were going on and I would feel much better about them if my sister was here or somewhere I knew that she was at. This suspense was driving me mad.

"I don't know, Mila. But I have to agree. As much as I despise that man, that was not him." He looked at the door as if his real brother would burst through it at any moment. "We need to find her before he does."

"I have a feeling we're to late, Mila. He's already found her or he wouldn't have come looking for the ring." He groaned with defeat. I placed my hand on his shoulder and faced him. "We still have to try. There may still be hope." He leaned down and kissed me softly. "We need to find out what's going on with Evan while we're at it." He ran his hand through my hair and at that moment I knew he would help me make things better. I have to find my sister and make things right even if it means losing her as my sister and having her hate me for the rest of our lives. It's what's for the best and it's what she needs at this point. I just hope we're not to late and get to her before Evan does. He could make thins a whole hell of a lot more complicated than it needs to be. But we will take it one obstacle at a time and head on at that. I would conquer this and get Jade back to where she needs to be in life.

"It'll work out, Mila." He embraced me and kissed the top of my head, "I know what you're thinking. But we'll get it all to work out in the end. You just have to believe that and it will happen." He was serious. He thinks if I just believe things will work themselves out. I was not good at just believing. I never have been, now was no exception. I pulled back and looked in his gorgeous eyes. "How can you expect me to just believe, Derek? My sister is missing. Her ex, your brother, is looking for her and he's not even is normal self. Something or someone has messed with him. Put a curse on him or gave him a potion of some kind. It's disturbing and scary. Explain how you can just believe things will work themselves out when we don't know where to start looking for Jade and Evan probably already knows where she's at?" I was exhausted from the morning events and was becoming emotional.

"Calm down." He began leading me over to the couch, sitting down and laying my head in his lap. He magicked a blanket over me and ran his fingers through my hair trying to soothe me. "I can't." He chuckled softly. "Of course you can. Just relax." I tried to do as he said and soon found myself starting to get sleepy. I was still worried about Jade but was trying to put my faith in Derek right now. I had to, otherwise I would let it bother me to the point of going crazy.

Laying there thinking about where my sister might be, I felt Derek's other arm lay lightly over my waist and I fell asleep quite content with my thoughts and the way Derek seemed to genuinely care about myself and Jade.
